Hello everyone, has a specific cause been found for why a control unit isn't going into sleep mode and the 12V battery is constantly being drained? If so, how was the problem resolved?
My Kia EV6 loses up to 4% of its high-voltage battery charge overnight. The 12V battery is repeatedly recharged from the high-voltage battery. It seems as if one or more control units are not going into sleep mode after the engine is switched off.
When I lock the vehicle, the alarm system repeatedly triggers. Even if I leave it unlocked, the increased power consumption persists. No error codes are displayed during diagnostics. The 12V battery has already been replaced; the doors, hood, tailgate, and interior monitoring system have been checked and ruled out as the cause.
Has anyone successfully resolved this problem? Which control unit, wiring, or software update was ultimately the cause or solution?
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!
I believe this question has been answered multiple times in this thread.
Brief recap:
- An app on your smartphone could be set up to poll your car at regular intervals. Check your smartphone.
- If you charge your car on a wallbox and you use a home automation software to chontrol/schedule charging, e.g. to use flexible tariffs, or to charge whenever your PV system produces surplus energy, then this can wake up your car, leading to draining your 12V battery, which in turn will automatically be recharged by your HV battery. Check your home automation system/software setup.
